– TGRC Announces the 2024 Annual Schools Competition

The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) is excited to announce the kick-off of the 2024 Annual Schools Competition, encouraging schools in Gauteng, The Western Cape Peninsula, Eastern Cape, and the Greater Durban and Pietermaritzburg regions to embark on a thrilling journey of glass recycling. This competition, starting on February 1, 2024, promises not only to combat litter but also to shower participating schools with their share of over R 440 000 in monthly and annual prizes. In addition, there are monthly donations to be awarded to schools for every ton of glass collected.

Picture this – your school turning into a group of recycling wizards, conjuring cash prizes and making a positive impact on the environment. It’s time to bring the magic of recycling to life, and TGRC invites schools to be part of this enchanting adventure.

The challenge is crystal clear: collect more glass bottles and jars than your fellow schools in the province. Monthly and annual cash prizes await the schools that rise to the top, proving their recycling prowess.

Participating is as easy as 1-2-3! Secure a glass bank for your school at no cost, encourage parents, teachers and learners to bring their glass treasures, and watch the magic unfold. Whether it’s a dazzling glass jar or a sparkling bottle, every contribution counts towards creating a cleaner, greener future.

Schools are invited to join the quest for recycling glory and enter as soon as possible. The best part? You can join the competition throughout the year, ensuring that your school remains in the running for monthly cash prizes. Simply rally your community, build your glass collection, and let the recycling magic begin!

To embark on this eco-friendly journey, participating schools must complete both the entry form and the glass bank application forms. Fear not, for a dedicated free glass bank will be bestowed upon your school for the entire duration of your participation – a beacon of hope for the glass treasures waiting to be recycled. About TGRC:
The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) consists of a team dedicated to increasing glass recycling in South Africa. We are passionate about ensuring every South African realises the value of recycling glass and actively embraces this practice.

We strive to educate, enable, encourage and inspire individuals to separate their glass for recycling, but do not physically collect or recycle the glass. Our focus extends beyond consumers and communities, but also on trade, industry and corporate South Africa. We also aim to uplift impoverished communities by creating income generating opportunities and skills development in the recycling sector. TGRC is funded by our committed members who manufacture glass or package their products in glass. We believe in the infinite potential of glass to make a real and positive contribution to society. At TGRC we are committed to show that glass recycling is worth the effort!
