The message behind Mandela Day 2014 was simple – each individual has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better. In the State of the Nation Address the need for us to clean up the country was highlighted. It was emphasised that all we should each dedicate at least 67 minutes on Mandela Day towards tidying our beautiful environment.
The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) heeded that call and spent the morning of Mandela Day cleaning up littered traffic islands and intersections for 67 minutes. TGRC understands the importance of ensuring South Africans clean and dispose of their waste in the best possible manner, which is by recycling. Recycling your waste ensures that your rubbish never litters our beautiful country nor ends up in landfill, rather that it is repeatedly used to manufacture new goods.
Make every day a Mandela Day!
TGRC aims to find manners to continue to live the legacy left by our beloved Madiba by finding sustainable ways to make the world a better place. We used this opportunity to express our support and commitment to this special day, in recognition of our appreciation for our iconic South African leader.
